Retail Dive: Pinterest Develops More Features to Boost E-Commerce Activities

Catching up with the e-commerce wave, Pinterest is adding more features to boost its shopping experience. The latest introduced was a feature called ‘Shopping List’ where users can pin their desired products and receive price drop notifications. 

Shoppers from the U.S and U.K are able to access “The Goods by Pinterest” feature. This is a showcase of limited edition products from DTC brands that partner with Pinterest which include Outdoor Voices, Brooklinen, and Olive & June. 

Last year, the company launched its verified merchant program and shop tab features. The Verified merchant program is now available in the U.K, Canada, France, Australia, and Germany. Retailers which meet certain requirements can gain access to the Verified Merchant Program which gives them a blue checkmark, a shop tab on their profile, and other benefits, allowing them to attract more customers. Apart from DTC brands, Pinterest also collaborated with apparel and cosmetics companies. 

Pinterest aims to become a place where advertisers can meet their customers and the customers can find quality products. Last year, the user’s engagement with shopping surfaces on Pinterest increased more than 200%:
